Michael Durio (77-74,151) of The Woodlands, TX won the University Junior Classic at
University Golf Club held July 11th-12th in Baton Rouge, LA. Jara Templet (70-77,147)
of Baton Rouge, LA won the Overall Girls Title with Taylor Kennedy of Baton Rouge,
LA taking the Junior Girls Title. The Junior Boys Title was won by Michael Sotile
(74-76,150) of Baton Rouge, LA. The weather made for great golf with the exception
of the heat. We had a total of 65 young men and young ladies come out and play in a
great tournament. Arrowhead Junior Golf would like to thank the staff of University
Golf Club for an excellent weekend and excellent hospitality. Arrowhead would also
like to congratulate Drew Gonzales for recording his second hole-in-one on the 142 yard
par three hole 5.

Durio Stays Focused to Win at University
Michael Durio of The Woodlands, TX claimed the Overall Boys Title this week, July 11th-12th,
at University Golf Club. On Saturday, Hayes Weathersby of Poplarville, MS shot a two
under par 70 to lead the boys into the clubhouse five strokes over Josh Fullilove of Larose, LA.
On Tuesday Durio would better his score by three strokes by birding holes 2,3,7,and 18.
Durio would go on to win the tournament by two strokes over Weathersby who went on to shoot
an 83 and claim the second position. Rounding out the rest of the top five were Jessie Smith (80-74,154)
of Arcadia, LA; Garrett Barnes (76-78,154) of Biloxi, MS; and Josh Fullilove (75-81,156) of Larose, LA.
Sotile Claims Junior Boys Title

Michael Sotile from Baton Rouge, LA captured the junior boy’s title on Tuesday afternoon. Sotile
shot a 74 on Monday and was four strokes back of leader Garett James of Lumberton, TX to start
the round on Tuesday. Sotile then went on to shoot a solid round of 76 on Tuesday to put him into
a three-way-tie with Robert David of Lafayette, LA; and Drew Gonzales of Lafayette, LA. After
the playoff concluded it was determined Sotile claimed the top spot over David, who finished second,
and Gonzales, who finished third. Rounding out the rest of the top five were Garett James (70-81, 151)
of Lumberton, TX; and Peter Mata (73-79,152) of Baton Rouge, LA.

Templet Wins Overall Girls Title

Taylor Kennedy
Jara Templet of Baton Rouge, LA won the Overall Girls Title at the University Golf Club this week
July 11th-12th. Templet played strong on Monday by shooting an opening round of 70 and never looked
back. Going into the round of Tuesday, Templet had a three stroke lead over Lauren Aillet of Lafayette, LA.
Templet would separate herself from the rest of the field on Tuesday by keep herself together when the heat
was tough. Templet shot a respectable round of 77 on Tuesday giving her a victory of 5 strokes over Julia
Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA. Rounding out the rest of the top five were Emily Ross (80-77, 157) of
Diamondhead, MS; Alexis Vega (77-85, 162) of Larose, LA; and Lauren Durbin (86-80, 166) of Biloxi, MS.
Arrowhead would also like to congratulate Taylor Kennedy for claiming the Junior Girls Title.
