The Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour traveled to Beaver Creek Golf Club in Zachary, LA this weekend of January 29th-30th, for the Beaver Creek Junior Classic. After weather conditions were fair on Saturday, the weather became severe for the round on Sunday. Adam Galliano of Baton Rouge, LA would shot a two day total of 149 (75-74) to claim the Overall Boys Title. Phillip Barbaree of Shreveport, LA would continue to play strong by shooting a tournament low of 69 on Saturday to give him the Junior Boys Championship. The girls of Arrowhead would have their tournament shortened to a 27 hole tournament due to the weather conditions. Angelica Harris of New Orleans, LA shot a two day total of 123 (85-38) to claim the Overall Girls Title. Arrowhead would like to thank the staff at Beaver Creek for of the help and hospitality.

When the senior boys division took to the golf course this weekend at the Beaver Creek Country in Zachary, LA the weather was beautiful. Jake Pritchard from Angie, LA set the pace early by leading the boys into the clubhouse with a Saturday low of 71 two strokes better than Dillon Dunbar of Marksville, LA. Sunday, however, would prove to be the tougher of the two days. Weather became a factor early in this round and would play a role in the final outcome. Adam Galliano started the day four strokes behind Pritchard but would come on strong in the end. Galliano shot a shot a solid 74 in challenging wind and rain giving him a two day total of 149 (75-74) and the Overall Boys Championship. Rounding out the rest of the top five were Ryan Desormeaux (77-75, 152) of Broussard, LA; Luke Miller (74-78, 152) of Mobile, AL; Jake Pritchard (71-82, 153) of Angie, LA; and Dillon Dunbar (73-82, 155) of Marksville, LA. |
Barbaree Continues Strong Play

The Junior Boys Division of the Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour is always a fun division to watch. Phillip Barbaree of Shreveport, LA showed his strength early Saturday by having birdied holes 1, 2, 3, 9, 12, and 16 giving him the lead with a tournament low of 69, five strokes over Sam Burns of Shreveport, LA and Nathan Jeansonne of Keithville, LA. When the weather turned bad on Sunday the Junior Boys held tight with Barbaree still leading the way. Barbaree fought through hard weather conditions on Sunday to shot a very respectable 74 and a two day total of 143 (69-74). Barabaree finished with a four stroke victory over Burns, who shot a two day total of 147 (74-73). Rounding out the rest of the top five were Michael Sotile (80-79, 159) of Baton Rouge, LA; Nathan Jeansonne (74-88, 162) of Keithville, LA; and Triston Elston (78-85, 163) of Baton Rouge, LA. |

Due to severe weather moving into the area on Sunday, the ladies of Arrowhead Junior Golf were forced to play a 27 hole tournament. On Saturday, Haley Harrington from nearby St. Francisville, LA lead the Overall Girls into the clubhouse with an opening round of 84, only one stroke over Angelica Harris of New Orleans, LA and two strokes over Pair Noibanchong of Mandeville, LA. When the ladies took to the course on Sunday the weather was overcast with rain in sight. Angelica Harris would set Harrington in her sights and never look back. Harris would go on to shoot a two day total of 123 (85-38) giving her a three stroke victory over Haley Harrington who finished with a two day total of 126 (84-42). Rounding out the rest of the field was Pair Noibanchong (85-45, 130) of Mandeville, LA; and Emily Blount (92-49, 141) of Denham Springs, LA.
