Nick Ingles (71-75,146) of New Orleans, LA won the Junior Masters at Santa Maria held
March 26th-27th  in Baton Rouge, LA. Jara Templet (74-77,151) of Baton Rouge, LA won
the Overall Girls Title with Mary hauvin (86-83,169) of Hammond, LA taking the Junior Girls Title. The Junior Boys Title was won by Conner  Wilson (75-79,154) of Central, LA.  The weather made for great golf with the exception of an unexpected wind gusts on Sunday. We had a total of 58 young men and young ladies come out and play in a great tournament. Arrowhead Junior Golf would like to thank the staff of Santa Maria Country Club for an excellent weekend and excellent hospitality.

Ingles Stays Focused to Win at Santa Maria

Nick Ingles of New Orleans, LA claimed the Overall Boys Title this weekend, March 26th-27th, at Santa Maria.  On Saturday, Tanner Towns of West Monroe, LA shot a two over par 74 to lead the boys into the clubhouse only one stroke over Ingles, Josh Fullilove of Larose, LA; and Austin Schillaci of Harahan, LA.  On Sunday the four men would continue to battle throughout the day.  Ingles, however, put a one under par 71 on the board to claim the victory by having birdied holes 12, 16, and 18.  The other three gentlemen (Towns, Fullilove, and Schillaci) would go into a scorecard playoff after Towns shot a two over par round again on Sunday and Fulliove and Schillaci would both shoot a one over par 73. The scorecard playoff would determine that Tanner Towns (74-74,148) of West Monroe, LA would finish second, Josh Fullilove (75-73, 148) would finish third, Austin Schillaci (75-73, 148) of Harahan, LA would finish fourth.  Rounding out the top five was Dillon Dunbar (73-76, 149) of Marksville, LA.

Wilson Claims Junior Boys Title

Conner WIlson from Central, LA captured his first junior boy’s tournament win on
Sunday afternoon. Wilson shot a 79 on Saturday to lead the junior boys division by a single stroke over Michael Sotile from Baton Rouge, LA and Stephen Wall of Madisonville, LA. Wilson would better his Saturday score on Sunday with shooting four over par 75 to capture the title with a two day total of 154 (79-75) still only one stroke over Sotile and Wall. Rounding out the rest of the top five were Michael Sotile (80-75, 155) of Baton Rouge, LA;
Stephan Wall (80-75, 155) of Madisonville, LA; Jacob Wyatt (81-79, 160) of Bossier, LA;
and Corbin Cantrell  (83-82, 165) of Benton, LA.

Templet Wins Girls Title at Santa Maria

Jara Templet of Baton Rouge, LA won the Overall Girls Title at the Santa Maria
Country Club this weekend March 26th-27th. Templet played strong on Saturday by shooting an opening round of 77 and never looked back.  Going into the round of Sunday, Templet had a seven stroke lead over Alexis Belton of West Monroe, LA.Templet  would separate herself from the rest of the field on Saturday by keep herself together when the winds were tough.Templet shot a two over par 74 on Sunday giving her a victory of 13 strokes over Emily Stratton of West Monroe, LA.  Rounding out the rest of the top five were Alexis Belton (84-85,169) of
West Monroe, LA; Haley Harrington (86-84, 170) of Jackson, LA;
and Emily Blount (94-79, 173) of Denham Springs, LA.
