The Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour traveled to the Copper Mill Golf Club in Baton Rouge, LA for a weekend filled with tons of golf action. Beautiful weather conditions but constant wind made for some interesting rounds of golf as Eric Ricard of Shreveport, LA would shoot a two day of 142 to capture Copper Mill Junior Classic March 12th-13th. Derick Pillai of Metairie, LA would claim the Junior Boys Title by shooting 71 on Saturday and 72 on Sunday.  Emily Stratton of West Monroe, LA shot a girls tournament low 72 on Saturday to secure the Overall Girls title. Arrowhead would like to thank the wonderful staff at Copper Mill for all of the help and hospitality.

Focus helps Ricard win at Copper Mill

With a strong field, the older boys of the Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour took to the course with some of the warmest temperatures we have seen all year.  Eric Ricard of Shreveport, LA set the pace early by having birdied hole 9 and having eagled hole 12 for an opening day 70 a mere stroke over his nearest competitors Brandon Newton of Ruston, LA and Adam Galliano of Baton Rouge, LA. Ricard continued to play consistent golf throughout Sunday as he would go on to shoot a 72 giving him a two day total of 142(70-72).  Ricard finished the tournament three strokes over Newton, who shoot a two day total of 145 (71-74). Rounding out the rest of the top five were Adam Galliano of Baton Rouge, LA (146,71-75); Dillon Dunbar of Marksville, LA (149, 73-76); and Jesse Smith of Arcadia (153, 75-78).

Pillai Wins Junior Boys Division

Derick Pillai claimed his first Arrowhead Junior Golf tournament win this weekend at the Copper Mill Golf Club in Zachary, LA. Pillai concluded Saturday’s action with a three stroke lead over Corbin Cantrell of Benton, LA.  Pillai kept his cool on Sunday by shooting an even par 72 to complete an amazing weekend of golf with a two day totalof 143. Pillai finished the tournament three strokes over Cantrell. Rounding out the rest of the top five wereDavis Field of Baton Rouge, LA (149, 75-74); Triston Elston of Baton Rouge, LA(150, 78-72); and Michael Sotile of Baton Rouge, LA (141, 77-74).

Stratton Claims Another Girls Title

Emily Stratton captured another Overall Girls Title this weekend at the Copper Mill
Golf Club in Zachary, LA.  When Saturday’s action concluded Stratton was the early leader with an opening round 72 five strokes over Jara Templet of Baton Rouge, LA.  At the conclusion of the tournament on Sunday, the gap between the leaders would tighten but Stratton would hold off for the win.  Stratton finished the tournament with a twoday total of 150 three strokes over Anna McMullen of Monroe, LA.  Rounding out rest of the top five were Jara Templet of Baton Rouge, LA  (157, 77-80); Hannah Schorr of Broussard, LA (157, 79-78); and Lana Hodge of Monroe, LA (161, 81-80).
