Barnes & Bradley Fire Red Numbers to Capture Beau Chene Junior Classic
Girls Overall Champion Elise Bradley putts from the fringe
Biloxi’s Garrett Barnes and Elise Bradley of Mandeville, Louisiana both fired sub-par final rounds enroute to the respective Boys and Girls Overall Championships at the AJGT Beau Chene Junior Classic at Beau Chene Country Club in Mandeville. Shreveport’s Philip Barbaree, Jr. and Emily Ross of Diamondhead, Mississippi came away with Age Division Titles.
The tournament was influenced by the state’s monsoon season, thankfully nearing its end in early October. Rain fell on an already well-watered course during Saturday’s round, but by Sunday a high blue sky led to better conditions and lower scores. The event was played on Beau Chene’s Magnolia Course, which features OB on virtually every hole, lots of water, and elevated greens.
