Paul Harris of Oneonta, Alabama came from behind to capture the Boys Overall Championship at the AJGT Eagle Point Junior Classic at Eagle Point Golf Club in Birmingham, Alabama, while Birmingham’s Forrest Gamble went wire to wire to take home the Boys 12-14 Age Division Title. Beautiful summer-blue skies characterized the event. Eagle Point was in excellent condition for the tournament.

Eagle Point is a par 71 course with elevated teeboxes, rolling terrain and a challenging, exciting layout.

Harris Fires Final Round 68 For Title

Paul Harris fired a final round, 3 under par 68 in a come-from-behind victory effort. Harris shot 33-35-68 and used four final round birdies. Harris nailed two birdies in his first round, 2 over par 73 effort. Harris’ 73-68-141 performance left him 1 under par for the tournament and provided a 3 stroke victory margin. Harris shot 34-39-73 and 33-35-68.


Stewart Jolly


Matthew Barnes

Jud Milam of Trussville, AL and Birmingham’s Stewart Jolly tied for second at 144, two over par and 3 strokes off of Harris’ pace. Milam raced out of the chute with a 3 under par 68 (34-34) on Tuesday and slept on a two-shot lead. Milam collected five birdies and an eagle. Jolly was solid throughout, shooting 74 on Tuesday and a 1 under par 70 on Wednesday for his 144. Jolly carded three back nine birdies on Wedneday enroute to a 3 under par 33 on the back nine.


Jud Milam

David Feliciano of Pace, Florida and Birmingham’s Matthew Barnes tied for 4th at 149. Feliciano shot 74-75-149 and Barnes shot 72-77-149. Feliciano made six birdies, including three in a 2 under par 33 effort on Tuesday’s front nine. Barnes made seven birdies and shot a 2 under par 34 on Tuesday’s back.

Jake Dishman of Pelham, AL and Werlien Prosperie III of Houma, LA tied for 6th at 150. Dishman shot 75-75-150 and Prosperie closed with a final round 74. Adam Sanders of Oxford, AL opened with a 1 under par 70 on Tuesday enroute to an 8th place finish. Birmingham’s Andrew Barnes and Colin Sudduth of Vestavia Hills, AL tied for 9th at 152.

Gamble Wins at Even Par

Birmingham’s Forrest Gamble shot a 1 under par 70, then followed with a 1 over par 72 effort on the tournament’s final day to take the victory in the Boys 12-14’s. Gamble shot 35-35-70 on Tuesday with five first round birdies. Gamble went out in 1 under par 34 on Wedneday’s front nine and collected three more birdies on the day to nail down the win.


Justin McElderry

Birmingham’s Ingram Tynes opened with a 2 over par 73 and finished second. Tynes made three first round birdies and played the front in 1 under par 34. Birmingham’s Jon Bryant collected four birdies on the tournament and shot 75-76-151 enroute to third place.

Hoover’s Daniel Schroder made three birdies and shot a final round 76 while finishing 4th. Pelham, AL’s Justin McElderry and Hoover, AL’s Michael Romano tied for 5th at 160. McElderry shot 78 on Tuesday and Romano carded three birdies on the tournament.

Tyler Hitchner of Tuscaloosa shot a final round 79 to finish in 7th at 161. Hoover’s Tanner Dixon and Birmingham’s Will Edmonds tied for 8th at 163, while Hoover’s Fischer Priestley shot 165 and rounded out the Top Ten in the Boys 12-14’s.
